Here’s a run down of all the martial arts classes held in and near Marlow for school age children.
These run after school or at weekends.
Martial Arts Classes running in Marlow
Genesis gym is based in Marlow near Coopers cafe. It also offers classes in High Wycombe. They are a dedicated martial arts centre offering training for children from 4yrs up to adult. They offer training on a pay monthly system that enables your child to attend as many lessons per week as they would like to. Lessons run nearly every day.
This block course is suitable for all those aged 8 – 15 years of age who would like to learn and develop the art of duelling. You can learn basic fencing moves, be introduced to duelling or develop your skills even further if you have some experience.
Krav Maga teach self defense and threat neutralisation. It teaches how to prevent, avoid, deter, or deal with all kinds of violent threats and attacks, including those of which involve all forms of weapons. Junior classes are for children aged 7 to 15yrs.
A.S. Judo run open sessions at Sandygate school on Saturday morning and at various other locations outside of Marlow through the week. There are two session, for children 5 to 8yrs and for 8 to 16yrs.
To learn self defense, discipline, respect and confidence whilst having fun. Classes run in Marlow, Maidenhead and High Wycombe. Marlow classes are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Luso Fencing Academy (LFA) has been established since March 2014 by portuguese fencing coach Carina Vicente. They run over 20 sessions per week offering training for children from 7 to 16 years old. In Marlow training is at the Redgrave Sports Centre on Saturdays. Further sessions at Wycombe High School and Furze Platt School.
Classes running near Marlow
The Dragon’s Martial Arts programme offers age-specific martial arts to children 4 to 7yrs, 7 to 12yrs and 13 to 15yrs. They are based at the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead but run classes at various locations around Maidenhead.
Junior fencing for children 8 to 15yrs held at Wycombe Leisure Centre on Monday’s after school.
The centre has been teaching Judo since 1987 and continues to offer excellent training. The centre has pathed the way to no less than 60 medals in European, World and Olympic competitions. Training is for children 6 to 15yrs on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Judo Centre in Booker.
Shotokan Karate club practice in many locations including High Wycombe and Maidenhead. In Wycombe practice takes place once a week at Michael’s School, High Wycombe for children 8+. Maidenhead Karate runs at Altwood School on Tuesdays.
