Winter Hill Golf Course Family Walk

This is one of our fave family walks. The views across the countryside are beautiful, especially looking out over the river Thames towards Bourne End on the route back. It’s also possible to see Cliveden. The kids love taking their binoculars along on this route.
Need to know
Parking: park on the roadside here
Distance: the route is approximately 2 miles long. It does have some fairly steep inclines in places.
Scooters/Buggies: not suitable on this route
Hazards: watch out for golfers as you cross the golf course!
Pit stop: there is no direct pit stop option on this route unless you detour. The Bounty pub is the nearest option but this would increase the walk by approximately another half a mile. The Bounty is a great summer pub with a beer garden that the kids will LOVE looking out of the river Thames. There isn’t really much inside space so stick to going when you can comfortably sit outside.

The pub does great food and can get very busy, so best to book if you plan on enjoying one of their delicious Sunday roasts! The countryside is really beautiful which makes this area one of […]
Bovingdon Green Circular Walk

This walk starts from Bovingdon Green just next to the Royal Oak pub. We did it with our two boys aged 3 and 6 with no buggies or carriers. The route we took wouldn’t be suitable for a buggy as it’s quite narrow in places and has pinch points to walk through (designed to stop […]
Hurley Buggy Walks

Hurley Village is a beautiful village just beyond Bisham and Temple but it is on the other side of the river to Marlow. You can access it by bike over the Temple bridge but this post is about the short circular routes that are ideal for buggies. For these routes we recommend driving to Hurley […]
