This is one of our fave family walks. The views across the countryside are beautiful, especially looking out over the river Thames towards Bourne End on the route back. It’s also possible to see Cliveden. The kids love taking their binoculars along on this route.
Need to know
Distance: the route is approximately 2 miles long. It does have some fairly steep inclines in places.
Scooters/Buggies: not suitable on this route
Hazards: watch out for golfers as you cross the golf course!
Pit stop: there is no direct pit stop option on this route unless you detour. The Bounty pub is the nearest option but this would increase the walk by approximately another half a mile. The Bounty is a great summer pub with a beer garden that the kids will LOVE looking out of the river Thames. There isn’t really much inside space so stick to going when you can comfortably sit outside.

This walk starts in Frieth village and does a short loop through the joining fields, into a small bit of woodland before returning on a circular loop. The walk finishes with walking through Frieth village itself. It is such a quiet village that we didn’t find it a problem walking the kids down the road. When […]
This is a short 1.5km walk that we do from Hambledon weir to the Flower Pot pub which is suitable for young children. There are probably many different routes around the pub but this is one we enjoy which is perfect for our 2.5yr and 5yr old boys – they like to spend more time […]

The woodlands are a lovely area to explore and there are plenty of natural attractions for kids, from climbing logs, dens to […]
