Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, is a 25 acre working Steam Museum, with one of the UK’s largest collections of locomotives, rolling stock and railway memorabilia. A re-created country station in the heyday of steam travel. The center puts on special days such as ‘a day out with Thomas’ where children can ride on the trains.

What you need to know
Opening times: The center is open 10:30 to 5:30 through the summer and 10:30 to 4:30 in the winter. It is not open every day and days vary so its best to check out their events calendar here.
Prices: these vary according to whats on the day you visit. For adults its between £6 and £13 and for children aged 5 to 15 its between £4 and £10
Facilities: visitor center, refreshment room, gift shop, royal dining coach. Many of the exhibits are under cover.

A day out with Thomas: On these special days take a ride behind Thomas theTank Engine
under the watchful eye of Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller. Attractions include a ride on some of Thomas’ smaller friends on our extensive miniature railway, Magic Show together with a Thomas & Friends Video cinema, children’s Punch and Judy, and free giveaways.
Steaming days: A full size engine will be in steam offering unlimited free train rides. Train rides can also be taken on our miniature railway for a small charge.
