Phoenix Gym

What’s it all about

Phoenix Gymnastics Club was established over 35 years ago to provide quality gymnastics coaching at all levels for the children of Windsor and Maidenhead. We are one of the leading clubs in Berkshire, with a membership of over 1000 budding gymnasts.

The gym has a wide range of sessions for all ages and abilities.

The Play Gym

These sessions are an exciting gymnastics based play activity for children under the age of 5 years.

These non-structured, one-hour gymnastics based play sessions give very young children the chance to have fun, build confidence and prepare for the transition to more formal gymnastics classes when they are older.

Arrive any time between 9.15am and 12.30am for a 1hr play session in the gym. Last entry 11:30.

Gym Cubs

This class is for age 18 months up to 3 year olds, with parent participation. These classes run Tuesday 1pm and Wednesday 10.30am. See timetable below.

Pre-School classes

Structured, coach led classes that will help your child discover gymnastics and build their movement and co-ordination skills.

They run for 45 minutes with British Gymnastics qualified coaches.

Classes are booked termly with a break for half term and follow the British Gymnastics FUNdamental movement scheme with the option of certificates and badges once they complete the scheme of work each term.

What a fantastic weekend for our trampoline squad this weekend in the Isle of Wight.

They competed at the Southern Region Comp and came a brilliant 5th out of 13 teams. Such an amazing achievement for our little club.

All 8 came away with a medal, a smile and a massive sense of achievement having bounced with no errors.

A big round of applause to coach Jane, the parents for making the trip and Jaimie for the awesome photos.

Week 6 (week commencing Monday 7th October) at Phoenix is Badge testing for our recreational gymnasts!

Please ensure gymnasts bring their training diaries with them to class and if you are new to the club and haven't had your training diary please pick your child's up this week!!

We follow the British Gymnastics Core Proficiency Badge scheme which develops children's core skills such as balance, strength, flexibility, co-ordination and incorporates pulse raising activities. To pass a badge, gymnasts need to show confidence and consistency in completing 7 out 10 skills including the first pulse raising activity. It is not guaranteed your child will pass a badge at each badge testing week.

If your child cannot make next week please look out for Badge camps in the holidays which can be booked via the events page on Love Admin.

A big shout out to the Regional final girls this weekend who competed in Portsmouth.

In Level 4 Junior Gabby came 5th overall with 2nd on beam and 6th on floor. Halle competed some very nice tidy routines but sadly had a couple of falls on beam which set her back.

At Level 4 senior Helen also came 5th overall with 3rd on beam and 6th on floor. Jessie was 5th on beam and 3rd on floor and Chloe competed some lovely, tidy routines and had a good floor score but a fall on beam also set her back.

Well done girls ⭐️

This weekend saw our in-age gymnasts compete at their regional championships.

First up on Saturday were our in age 5 gymnasts Millie Major and Savannah Airs who both competed confidently with Millie finishing 2nd bars,4th beam and 5th overall.

Savannah won the bronze medal on bars and finished 11th overall after a fall on beam.

Emmy Beaupain took to the stage on Sunday and with plenty of style claimed the level 2 pathway title. Well done on performing your new vault and new tumbles to secure your gold medals on floor and vault.

Well done to Lauryn who put out some very classy routines in her warm up for national finals. A few uncharacteristic falls meant a 5th overall finish but we’ve got a lot more to come from this little lady!
