Tumble Tots

What’s it all about

Designed to develop children’s physical skills of agility, balance, co-ordination and climbing, through the use of brightly coloured Tumble Tots equipment.  The programme is structured to develop children’s positive personality traits including confidence and self-esteem. There are different classes for different ages.

6m to walking: with parent involvement, each 45 minutes session helps to stimulate and encourage babies to use all their senses, gently and without pressure.  Playing, exploring, crawling and learning together in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Walking to 2s: now that your child has started to walk confidently they will attempt a varied range of tasks on various pieces of equipment improving motor skills particularly in balance and co-ordination. Your child will also be introduced to nursery/body identification ryhmes and action songs helping towards language development.  Again with the assistance of parents/carers, the classes gently stimulate body awareness and encourage the confident walker to attempt climbing, jumping and rolling.

2yrs to 3yrs: By now your child should be moving more confidently and their physical, social and language skills will have developed rapidly.  As your child now starts to develop listening skills, the 2 – 3 year class is structured around ‘activity stations’ which each have their own identity.  The equipment layout is in some cases higher and more demanding but they are still within the capabilities of this age group. Once again the parent/carer plays a huge part within the class structure.

3yrs to school age: Children now take part on their own during the session enabling them to boost their confidence by achieving activities without parental guidance. Staff guide them to fulfil their potential. The children will further develop their motor skills, tackle tasks and enhance their skills of agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination.  Within the class the children will actively participate in small groups developing listening and language skills.

❓ Do you know what proximdistal development is ❓ Its where the body develops from the centre-outwards, from the areas around the spine to the extremities. You can see this in infant development. Its why infants use their shoulders to wave the whole arm around, long before the elbows, wrists and hands are strong enough to undertake their separate roles.

Tumble Tots is designed to nurture this developmental pattern. Its why our 6 month to walking classes have specially designed stretching and strengthening exercises built into our circle times. And in our walking to 2 years classes, the actions we use in our action songs focus on movements closer to the centre of the body.

Your child's ability to recognise different colours improves around 18 months. There are plenty of opportunities to talk about the basic colours in a Tumble Tots class. Colours can be tricky for tots to master because there are so many different hues, but learning through play is a great way to practice! ... See MoreSee Less

🔹 6 months to walking class 🔹 When is the right time to start? Some parents and carers prefer to wait until their child is moving (crawling or cruising) before they start. Others prefer to come sooner to build their little ones confidence on the equipment and to help then reach these key milestones. Our trained coaches will suggest activities to suit your child's stage of development, so you can start as soon as you're ready! ... See MoreSee Less

Have you ever....?
💭Climbed a ladder twice as tall as you, gone over the top and down the other side
💭Rolled over 3 giant barrels doing your best superman impression before landing inside a tunnel
💭Crossed a bridge with no handrails to hold onto, just using your arms to help you balance
Our Tumble Tots have the best fun and their self-esteem rockets with their accomplishments in class.
